ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I have loved to write little stories and poems since I was in the 7th grade. I’m not sure why, except, I found it fun and even comforting to write out my thoughts when I was sad or confused or even happy. I never thought about writing a novel someday. Now I am a high school history teacher who is surrounded by teenagers every day. I see my students going through many of the emotions and ups and downs that I went through at their age. The biggest change in my high school life was when my father was transferred from Georgia to Canada when I was in the 9th grade and that became the story for my novel. What do I like to do other than writing? I love to bake yummy goodies.

I want to go to culinary school someday! Travelling is also on top of my list. So far, I have traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and that oh so beautiful Italy as well as various countries in South America, like Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Today, I live in Virginia with my husband and my little Chihuahua, Teddy. Teddy is becoming a major character for a future children’s picturebook that I want to write . The things that are important to me in life are my family, friends, my students and most of all my faith.
